"My neighbour got the ₹2,000 and I didn't." If your PM-KISAN instalment is pending, the one-line fix is: open Know Your Status on pmkisan.gov.in and look at three lines, eKYC, Land Seeding and Aadhaar Bank Account Seeding; whichever says "No" is the reason, and each has a specific fix. None of these fixes requires paying an agent.
Everything below is as of October 2026. PM-KISAN pays eligible farmer families ₹6,000 a year in three instalments of ₹2,000. The 23rd instalment was released on 20 June 2026 to about 9.44 crore farmers (over ₹18,880 crore, per PIB). The official PM-KISAN social media handle announced on 23 October 2026 that the 24th instalment is set for release on 30 October 2026. Check pmkisan.gov.in for the latest.
Who this applies to
PM-KISAN is for landholding farmer families (husband, wife and minor children) with cultivable land recorded in their name. Even if you are registered, payment stops if you fall into an excluded group, which includes:
- Institutional landholders
- Current or former holders of constitutional posts, ministers, MPs, MLAs, mayors and district panchayat chairpersons
- Serving or retired central/state government employees (except multi-tasking staff, Class IV and Group D)
- Retired pensioners getting ₹10,000 a month or more (with the same exception)
- People who paid income tax in the last assessment year
- Registered professionals such as doctors, engineers, lawyers, chartered accountants and architects practising their profession
If an excluded person received money, the government can recover it. If you think you were wrongly marked ineligible, the fix is through the state, not the helpline alone.
Read your status: what each line means
On pmkisan.gov.in, go to Farmers Corner → Know Your Status, enter your registration number (use "Know your registration number" with Aadhaar or mobile if you don't have it) and the captcha, then get the OTP.
| Status line | If it shows "No" or a problem | What to do |
|---|---|---|
| eKYC Status | eKYC not completed | Do OTP eKYC on the portal, face authentication in the app, or biometric eKYC at a CSC |
| Land Seeding | State has not verified/linked your land record | Contact patwari / lekhpal / talati or block agriculture office with land papers |
| Aadhaar Bank Account Seeding | Aadhaar not mapped to an active bank account with NPCI | Ask your bank for Aadhaar seeding with NPCI mapping (DBT), or open an IPPB account |
| Eligibility / state approval pending | State has not approved the record | Follow up with district or block agriculture officer |
| Payment failed / account invalid | Bank rejected the credit | Fix the account (closed, frozen, dormant, name mismatch) and ask for re-credit |
Some states also require a Farmer ID under the AgriStack programme. News reports in 2026 said it had become mandatory for new registrations in a number of states and that farmers without one could see delays. Check with your agriculture office whether your state has made it compulsory and register at a camp or the state AgriStack portal if needed.
Worked example: what you could be owed
Suppose a farmer's eKYC lapsed and the status shows the 22nd (March 2026) and 23rd (June 2026) instalments as not paid.
- Instalment amount: ₹2,000
- Instalments missed: 2
- Total pending: 2 × ₹2,000 = ₹4,000
- Yearly entitlement for comparison: 3 × ₹2,000 = ₹6,000
After the eKYC is completed and the state re-verifies the record, pending instalments for periods in which the farmer was otherwise eligible are often released, but this is decided by the state and the scheme rules, not guaranteed. Write down which instalment numbers are pending and quote them in every follow-up.
Documents to keep ready
- Aadhaar card, and the mobile number linked to it
- Bank passbook (first page) of the account seeded with Aadhaar
- Land record: khatauni / 7/12 / jamabandi / patta, as your state calls it
- PM-KISAN registration number
- Farmer ID, where your state issues one
Step by step: fixing a pending payment
Day 1: identify the block
- Check Know Your Status and screenshot it.
- Check your Aadhaar bank seeding status on the official myAadhaar portal. It tells you which bank your Aadhaar is mapped to with NPCI. PM-KISAN money goes to that account, not necessarily the one you wrote on the form.
- Check your bank passbook or app for credits narrated as PM-KISAN.
Week 1: fix it
- eKYC: OTP eKYC on the portal works if your Aadhaar-linked mobile is active. If not, use face authentication in the official PM-KISAN app, or visit a Common Service Centre for biometric eKYC.
- Bank seeding: at your branch, ask for Aadhaar seeding with NPCI mapping for DBT. Make sure the account is active and KYC-updated; see bank KYC update and reactivating a dormant account. A zero-balance Jan Dhan account or an India Post Payments Bank account can also receive DBT.
- Name mismatch: if the name on Aadhaar differs from PM-KISAN or the bank, request a correction. The portal has an option to edit Aadhaar-based name details for certain cases; others go through the state.
- Land seeding: submit a written request with land papers to the revenue official or block agriculture office. This is the slowest fix and depends on the state.
Weeks 2-4: follow up
Re-check status. Lines should change to "Yes". If they do and the next instalment still doesn't arrive, the record may be pending state approval or the payment may have failed at the bank.
How to complain
| Level | Where | What to give |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | Block / district agriculture officer (state nodal office) | Registration number, Aadhaar, land papers, status screenshot |
| 2 | PM-KISAN helpline: 155261, 1800-115-526 (toll-free), 011-24300606 | Registration number and the exact status message |
| 3 | Email pmkisan-ict@gov.in, or the grievance option in Farmers Corner | Same details plus your complaint number |
| 4 | CPGRAMS at pgportal.gov.in (Department of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare) | If unresolved for about 30 days |
| Bank side | Your bank, then cms.rbi.org.in after 30 days | If PM-KISAN shows "credited" but your bank didn't |
If the money shows as sent but not received, our guide on money debited but not credited explains how to trace a credit with the bank.

Subject: PM-KISAN instalments pending – Registration No. [number]
I am a registered PM-KISAN beneficiary, [name], village [village], block [block], district [district]. My [22nd and 23rd] instalments have not been received. My status shows: eKYC [Yes/No], Land Seeding [Yes/No], Aadhaar Bank Seeding [Yes/No]. I completed [eKYC / bank seeding] on [date]. Please verify my record and release the pending instalments to my Aadhaar-seeded account at [bank, last 4 digits]. Mobile: [number]
What not to do
- Do not pay anyone to "release" your instalment. Status checks, eKYC on the portal and app, and grievances are free.
- Avoid fake sites and links. Use pmkisan.gov.in and the official app only. Messages with "PM-KISAN APK" files or links asking for bank details are a common fraud.
- Never share OTPs or your UPI PIN with callers claiming to be from PM-KISAN.
- Don't re-register under a new number to get around a problem; duplicate records can block both.
PM-KISAN is separate from the farmers' pension scheme; if you are 18-40, see PM Kisan Maandhan Yojana, and for crop loans see the Kisan Credit Card loan guide.
Key takeaways
- PM-KISAN pays ₹6,000 a year in three ₹2,000 instalments; the 23rd was released on 20 June 2026 and the 24th was announced for 30 October 2026.
- Payment needs three things marked Yes: eKYC, land seeding and Aadhaar-bank seeding with NPCI.
- The money goes to the bank account mapped to your Aadhaar, so check the myAadhaar seeding status.
- Land seeding is fixed by the state revenue or agriculture office, not the helpline.
- Escalate state office → 155261 / pmkisan-ict@gov.in → CPGRAMS, and never pay an agent.
Frequently asked questions
Why is my PM-KISAN instalment not received?
The most common reasons are incomplete eKYC, land seeding marked No, Aadhaar not seeded to an active bank account, a name mismatch between Aadhaar and PM-KISAN records, or the state not yet verifying your record. The Know Your Status page on pmkisan.gov.in shows which one applies.
How do I complete PM-KISAN eKYC?
You can do OTP-based eKYC on pmkisan.gov.in if your mobile is linked to Aadhaar, use face authentication in the official PM-KISAN app, or visit a Common Service Centre for biometric eKYC. Fees at CSCs are set by the government; the portal and app options are free.
What does Land Seeding No mean in PM-KISAN?
It means your land record has not been verified and linked to your PM-KISAN registration by the state. Contact your patwari, lekhpal, talati or block agriculture officer with your land papers so the state can update it. Payments stay on hold until it shows Yes.
Will I get the missed PM-KISAN instalments after fixing the problem?
Often, instalments for periods in which you were otherwise eligible are released after the problem is fixed and the state verifies your record, but this is not guaranteed. Ask your state nodal officer in writing which instalments are pending for your registration.
What is the PM-KISAN helpline number?
The PM-KISAN helpline numbers are 155261 and 1800-115-526 (toll-free), and 011-24300606. You can also email pmkisan-ict@gov.in or raise a grievance through the Farmers Corner on pmkisan.gov.in.
How much money does PM-KISAN give?
PM-KISAN pays ₹6,000 a year to eligible landholding farmer families in three instalments of ₹2,000 each, directly into the Aadhaar-seeded bank account.
