When a V380 camera shows offline, it means the app cannot reach the camera, not that the camera is broken. In most homes the cause is power, a router change, unstable WiFi or a router setting, and a restart of the camera and router fixes it. If you changed your router or WiFi password, the camera needs a factory reset and fresh setup. Work through the checks below in order; each one takes a few minutes.

Menu names can differ slightly by app version and camera model, so use the steps as a guide.

Read the status in the app first

The V380 FAQ explains the status labels the app shows on each camera:

Status Meaning Likely fix
Connecting App is still fetching status Wait 30 seconds, pull down to refresh
LAN online Phone and camera are on the same WiFi and talk directly Works at home only
Internet online Camera reachable from anywhere Normal
Internet offline (LAN online) Camera is on WiFi but cannot reach the internet Check router internet, firewall, MAC binding
Device offline (both offline) App cannot find the camera at all Power, WiFi, router changes, reset

If the camera shows LAN online when you are at home but offline outside, the problem is internet access or a router restriction, not WiFi range.

Step-by-step fixes

1. Check power and the adapter

Most V380 models have no battery and must stay on mains power. Look at the indicator light. If it is off, try a different socket, then a different 5 V adapter and cable of the same rating. Repeated restarts or no response after power-on are, per the V380 FAQ, usually power or hardware issues. Loose USB cables on ceiling-mounted cameras are a frequent culprit.

After a power cut, the camera needs a minute or two to boot and rejoin WiFi, and your router may take longer. Wait before assuming a fault.

2. Restart the camera and router

Unplug both for 30 seconds. Plug in the router first, wait until the internet light is stable, then plug in the camera. This clears most temporary glitches, including IP address conflicts after a router restart.

3. Check whether anything changed on the router

If any of these happened, the camera cannot reconnect on its own:

  • New router installed by your ISP, or ISP changed
  • WiFi name or password changed
  • 2.4 GHz band turned off, or bands merged into one name
  • Security mode switched to WPA3-only

The fix, per the V380 FAQ, is to reset the camera to factory settings and configure the network again. See the reset steps below. Make sure the 2.4 GHz network is enabled, because V380 cameras cannot use 5 GHz.

4. Check the WiFi signal at the camera

Many cameras show a slowly flashing blue light when disconnected (check your model's manual). Stand next to the camera with your phone on the same 2.4 GHz network and run a speed test. If upload is below about 2 Mbps or the signal drops to one bar, the camera will go offline often. Move the camera or router closer, or add an extender or mesh node.

5. Remove router restrictions

The V380 FAQ points to router settings when the camera is on WiFi but offline:

  • MAC filtering, blacklist or parental controls – make sure the camera is allowed.
  • AP isolation – turn it off so the phone can see the camera at home.
  • Firewall – a strict router firewall can block the camera's cloud connection.
  • IP address conflict – if two devices got the same fixed IP, set the router to assign addresses automatically (DHCP) or reserve a unique IP for the camera.

6. Update the app and firmware

Update V380 Pro from the Play Store or App Store. Once the camera is online again, open its settings and look for the device information or firmware update option; the V380 FAQ suggests a firmware upgrade for many unstable-video and offline issues. Do not unplug the camera during an update.

7. Clear the app's cache and log in again

On Android, go to phone Settings > Apps > V380 Pro > Storage and tap Clear cache (not Clear data, unless you are ready to log in again). On iPhone, delete and reinstall the app. Then log in. Also make sure nobody else logged into your account on another phone: one V380 account works on only one device at a time, and a second login pushes the first one out.

8. Check the phone side

Confirm your phone has internet, that the app has network permission (on iPhone, mobile data and Local Network permission for the app), and that a VPN or data saver is not blocking it. Try another phone or network to rule out the phone.

9. Reset and re-add the device

If nothing works:

  1. Delete the camera from the device list in the app.
  2. Hold the reset button for about 6-7 seconds (indoor) or about 10 seconds (many outdoor models) until the camera announces a factory restore.
  3. Wait for "Access-Point established" or the smart link prompt.
  4. Add it again using AP hotspot mode near the router, then set a new device password.

A reset clears WiFi details, device password, alarm settings and cloud binding, so you will need to set those again. If a cloud plan was bound, rebind it from the cloud section of the app.

What does downtime cost you? A worked example

An offline camera is a security gap, and repeated fixes cost money too. Consider a household that has its camera go offline three times a month and pays a technician ₹300 per visit:

  • 3 visits x ₹300 = ₹900 a month, or ₹10,800 a year (illustrative).
  • A one-time WiFi extender typically costs ₹1,000-2,000 and uses about 5 W: 5 W x 24 h x 30 = 3.6 units, about ₹29 a month at ₹8 per unit.

Fixing the root cause (signal, router setting or power) once is usually far cheaper than repeated call-outs. If you pay for a cloud plan, it keeps billing even while the camera is offline, so keep an eye on it along with your other recurring subscriptions.

Is the camera still recording while offline?

If a microSD card is inserted and recording is on, the V380 FAQ says the camera keeps recording to the card whenever it has power, even without internet. Two catches: the time stamp may reset (some cameras show 1970) until the camera gets internet or you open live view, and cloud uploads stop while offline.

What not to do

  • Do not share your app password or device password with "helpline" callers. Fake support numbers are common; get support details from the seller or app. If you lose money, call 1930 or report on cybercrime.gov.in, and see our guide on cyber fraud money recovery.
  • Do not leave the camera on an old, unpatched firmware or with an empty device password once it is back online.
  • Do not reset the camera before trying a simple restart; a reset means full reconfiguration.

Key takeaways

  • "Offline" means the app cannot reach the camera; start with power and a restart of router and camera.
  • A new router, changed WiFi password or disabled 2.4 GHz band needs a factory reset and fresh setup.
  • "LAN online, Internet offline" points to router internet or restrictions.
  • Update app and firmware, and remember one account works on one phone at a time.
  • Fix the root cause once instead of paying for repeated visits.

Frequently asked questions

Why does my V380 camera keep showing offline?

Common causes are a loose power adapter, weak or unstable WiFi, a changed router or WiFi password, router restrictions such as MAC filtering, or the router itself having no internet. Start by restarting the camera and router, then check the WiFi details.

What does LAN online but Internet offline mean in V380?

The camera is reachable on your home network but cannot reach the internet, so remote viewing will not work. Check that the router has internet and is not blocking the camera with a firewall, blacklist or MAC binding.

My V380 camera went offline after I changed my WiFi password. What now?

The camera still has the old password. Factory reset it and set up the network again in the app. A reset is meant to clear settings rather than the memory card, but copy important clips to a computer first to be safe.

Does a V380 camera record when it is offline?

If a memory card is inserted and recording is turned on, the camera keeps recording to the card as long as it has power, according to the V380 FAQ. The time stamp can be wrong without internet, and cloud uploads stop.

Can I use the same V380 account on two phones?

The V380 FAQ says an account can be logged in on only one device at a time. If someone logs in elsewhere, your phone is logged out, which can look like a problem. Share the camera to a second account instead.
